Philip Hawkins is an experienced Wedding Photographer who adheres strictly to two main objectives:
Providing FIRST CLASS PHOTOGRAPHIC COVERAGE and EXCEPTIONAL VALUE FOR MONEY.

Quality photographic coverage. Philip Hawkins has worked in photography all his life. Since turning freelance in 1999 he has become one of the UK’s most published photographers. His impressive list of credits can be found in his commercial PORTFOLIO section of the GALLERY and on his BIOG page.

Value for money. Philip deliberately keeps his price structure simple and bases it around four levels of coverage. To ensure you get maximum value for your money whichever level you choose you get ALL the final images from the day. This can be anything from 100–500 images. The pictures supplied on disc will be high resolution images (not a low resolution proof CD) giving you the opportunity of making your own additional albums, getting enlargements, reprints, creating slide shows, etc. etc. Most photographers do not do this as they can make further profit by getting you to order reprints and enlargements through them thus increasing their earnings and escalating your price.


Even though you get the above disc Philip will still provide you with one of the latest digital storybook albums which is creatively designed around your photos, not the other way round. This is because it guarantees him future work. When you show your wedding photos to your family and friends Philip wants them to be impressed (and believe me they will be!). STYLES: There are two main styles of wedding coverage. Classic and Reportage.

Reportage wedding photography or photojournalistic is currently the most sought after with couples wanting their wedding shoots in magazine style. 'Reportage' and 'Photojournalism' style are phrases that are often used wildly in wedding photography circles without any real experience behind their use. However, Philip is a genuine photojournalist, regularly commissioned by magazines both in the UK and USA. He is skilled at capturing the atmosphere, ambience and spontaneity of your day without unnecessary intrusion, allowing you to simply enjoy the day with your friends and family.

Classic wedding coverage is the more traditional style with formal poses and group shots. Although this is quite different to reportage Philip’s photojournalistic background is an advantage. Using speed posing techniques learned from assignments having strict time constraints Philip is skilled at getting people organised and relaxed quickly and efficiently. For bride and groom sets Philip works comfortably and smoothly in order to produce his natural, relaxed images for which he is renowned.

Philip shoots most weddings with a mix of both styles but will discuss with you your personal preferences for your day and work accordingly.

Pre-wedding consultation. This is included with whatever package you choose. As well as discussing your wedding details and ideas with you Philip will give you tips picked up from professional models on how to look stunning in front of the camera.

PRICES

Level 1: Ceremony or Location.

Starts with the groom, then the bride, arriving at the church/venue and concludes when bride and groom leave for the reception. Usually, all photography is carried out at the ceremony venue unless Bridal party wish to move to a local beauty spot before proceeding to reception. Approx. 100 photographs.
Price includes pre-wedding consultation, ALL final images supplied at high resolution on disc, a contemporary storybook album and if you wish your own online gallery.
Price: £795

Level 2: Ceremony and reception.

Starts with the groom, then the bride, arriving at church/venue and also includes coverage of reception including wedding breakfast and/or first dance depending on timings. Approx. 200 photographs.
Price includes pre-wedding consultation, ALL final images supplied at high resolution on disc, a contemporary storybook album and your own online gallery if you wish.
Price: £995

Level 3: Brides home to reception.

Starts at brides home and covers pre-wedding preparations followed by bride arriving at church/venue and also includes coverage of reception including wedding breakfast and/or first dance depending on timings. Approx. 300 photographs.
Price includes pre-wedding consultation, ALL final images supplied at high resolution on disc, a contemporary storybook album and if you wish your own online gallery.
Price: £1195

Level 4: All day coverage.

Starts with your pre-wedding preparations and continues all the way through your day until midnight ensuring you retain all the precious memories from your day. Approx. 500 photographs.
Price includes pre-wedding consultation, ALL final images supplied at high resolution on disc, your own online gallery and a contemporary storybook album.
Price: £1495

Each level of coverage is totally flexible and can easily be adapted to your needs.

As Philip is asked to cover weddings all over the UK he will ask you to cover his expenses if your wedding is outside a 60 mile radius of Edinburgh at 25p per mile.
